Not All Models are Detailed Equally. Why?
To detail or not to detail, that is the question.

“Why don’t you include more details on your models?”, asked an enthusiastic collector of PacMin models.
So, why do some of our models show lots of details and others don’t?
Our answer: We respond to our customers’ objectives and requirements on a case-by-case basis.
Each model is a manifestation of the story our customers wish to tell. And, as we have many customers in many industries, the stories they wish to tell are many and varied.
Each customer and their story are important, and one size does not fit all. Here are two contrasting examples:
1. An airline and an airframe company wish to celebrate the introduction of a new aircraft type into the airline’s network. It is an opportunity to unite their two identities and highlight their partnership. The airline wants to focus on their brand identity and show the beauty of their livery.
The airframe company wants to accurately depict the aircraft’s design and shape.
Neither want to include details that distract the eye of the beholder. No emergency door handles, pitot tubes, APU exhaust, or antennas.
Both want their models to portray the excitement of air travel and the beauty of the craft that take people on new adventures, unite families, and cement business relationships.
2. In contrast to the airline model, take this 1.5 m , 5 ft long model of a trailer commissioned by Hyundai. Their goal is to depict the robust structure inside and outside the trailer as well as the undercarriage and suspension. They want to highlight that their trailer was extraordinary because of the details.
As is the case with Shakespeare’s Hamlet, there is no simple answer. “To be or not to be, that is the question.” – Hamlet
