Qantas Expands Customer Payment Options with UnionPay
On April 27, Qantas and UnionPay signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will extend UnionPay’s services across the airline’s customer touchpoints. The agreement further strengthens both companies’ commitment to improving the traveler experience. A PacMin desktop model in Qantas’ new brand and livery was there to commemorate the partnership.
Qantas passengers can currently use UnionPay cards to book flights departing from China. Under the expanded agreement, customers may soon be able to use the card for other flight-related purchases and at retail stores in Australia.
The traveler experience is becoming increasingly important in aviation marketing efforts. These expanded payment options come at a key time as Qantas recently introduced new flights between Sydney and Beijing. They are just one part of the airline’s strategy to appeal to an increasingly discerning audience.
Visual representations of an airline’s brand such as the custom 1/100 scale Qantas desktop model have also proven to be an effective marketing tactic. They serve as mementos of key business deals and keep brands top of mind for customers.
In addition to airplane models, PacMin can create custom scale models of engines, winglets, or other aircraft components that are tailored to each customer and special occasion. For over seventy years, PacMin has been a trusted source of aviation marketing models, displays, and graphic services.
