PacMin Featured with RAMPF Group at CAMX 2016

Reading Time: 2 minutes

PacMin will be featured at the RAMPF Group’s booth at the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) show in Anaheim, California. The show takes place from September 26 to 29 at the Anaheim Convention Center. The RAMPF Group will be in the Expo Hall at Booth M22.

The RAMPF Group offers a suite of composite services including production systems, tooling solutions, and contract manufacturing.

PacMin will have two products at RAMPF’s booth to demonstrate how their materials are used to produce both custom desktop models and large scale exhibit displays.

An unfinished 1/72 scale Boeing 737-8W model will be on display. On one side is the bare Renshape material. On the other side, attendees can see a simplified step by step overview of PacMin’s production process from primer to paint to final clear.

Also at the booth will be a PacMin 3D event projection display. The projection will be shown directly on a large 5 foot (1.52 meter) diameter UFO. In order to reduce weight and create a large seamless surface for the 3D event projection, the UFO was produced in a two-step process.

A negative tool was cut from 10lb foam. Fiberglass is then laid over the tool to create a more durable, lightweight positive.

CAMX is in its third year and continues to grow both in attendance and number of new technologies being exhibited. This year’s expo will feature over 550 exhibitors covering products such as machinery to software, as well as a wide range of materials including resin, tooling materials, and more.
