Endeavoring to expand its Dubai hub into a global gateway, Emirates Airlines ordered 32 additional Airbus A380 aircraft. German Chancellor, Angela Merkel held a PacMin 1/100 scale desktop model as a tribute to the USD$11.5 billion deal.
