EBACE 2019 took place at the Palexpo conference center in Geneva from May 21 to May 23. Once again, PacMin cutaways and large scale models were popular sights on the exhibition floor. PacMin aviation models could be seen at mainstay booths including Aerion, Airbus Corporate Jets, Boeing Business Jets, Bombardier, Greenpoint, HondaJet, and others.
Every model is custom made to each customer’s specifications and tradeshow needs. For booths with limited space, “stub” wings and sectional cutaways make it possible to include physical displays without a large footprint. If the goal is to communicate the luxury, comfort, and privacy of a VIP business jet, cutaway models paired with CG animation is a winning combination.
Boeing Business Jets’ (BBJ) 737 MAX 7 cutaway returned to this year’s EBACE. The 1/12 scale model measures 9-foot (2.8m) long and features a modern VVIP interior designed by Alberto Pinto. Since the cutaway model was produced in 2017, it has traveled to over 10 shows around the world. Photos of the model and its luxury interior are a common sight on tradeshow media coverage and social media.
Greenpoint’s VIP Boeing 787-9 cutaway also remains a crowd pleaser each year. It stretches over 10 (3m) long and includes six LCD screens which are capable of independent playback. The luxurious “Azure” interior gives attendees an idea of what their VIP-configured 787 could be.
Other model highlights included Honda Aircraft’s large 1/3 scale model of the new HondaJet Elite in a signature “Ice Blue” color scheme. Attendees were invited to take photos and videos with the new HondaJet Elite model. Its pearlescent colors and chrome accents made it a photogenic backdrop.
PacMin cutaways and exhibit models are a staple at aviation tradeshows and events. They withstand the test of time and attract crowds year after year.
The 2019 edition drew in 400 exhibitors from over 80 countries. Next year’s EBACE will take place May 26 – 28 in Geneva, Switzerland.
